Toque-de-queda-A

Articled translated in English below:

The Peruvian film “Toque de queda” (“Curfew”) , a new story set in the years of the internal war, will be directed by Rodolfo Pereira and will feature in the cast with internationals Henry Ian Cusick and Helena Christensen. Recently, in January of this year the production team completed the journey of identification of places ( scouting ) where the film will be filmed: Ayacucho and the central jungle. The tape does not yet have a confirmed release date.

“Filming is estimated to start between August and September of this year . The two foreign actors are insured, but with both still need to define their availability for those dates. The other star roles will be played by Peruvian talent, “says director Rodolfo Pereira.

“Toque de queda” will have as director of photography the experienced Juan Durán (“La luz en el cerro”, “Días de Santiago”), and the executive producer will be Andrés Malatesta (who worked on the recent “Delicious dry fruit”). The crew will be composed mainly of professionals from Peru, Argentina, Brazil, and possibly Colombia.

SYNOPSIS

“Toque de queda” takes place in Peru, in the mid-80s. Two foreign journalists go into the mountains and jungle of Peru in search of two colleagues from Lima , disappeared while covering the execution of a massacre in the heights of Ayacucho .

On the way, correspondents will discover an unknown country, torn apart by violent clashes between clandestine armed groups and whose existence nobody knew. The discovery of the truth will change your life completely.

THE PROTAGONISTS

The actor Henry Ian Cusick was born in Trujillo, Peru, was raised in Trinidad and Scotland and now lives in Hawaii. He participated in several television programs in Britain, before moving to the United States to join the cast of the hit series “Lost.” In 2006 he was nominated for an Emmy for his role as Desmond Hume and continued as an important character in the series for 5 seasons.

He also played some characters in series such as “Scandal”, “24”, “Law and Order”, “Fringe”, “The Mentalist” and “The 100”, in which he currently participates. Cusick has also participated in some films, such as “Hitman”, “Just Let Go”, “HalfLight”, “9 / tenths”, “Richard II”, “Not Another Happy Ending”, among others.

For her part, Helena Christensen is a Danish actress, model and photographer. He was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. His father is Danish and his mother is Peruvian . Christensen won the crown of Miss Universe Denmark in 1986 and represented her native country in the 1986 Miss Universe pageant. She has also been a Victoria’s Secret Angel.

In addition, Christensen has participated in some films such as the telefilm “Inferno” (1980), “Prêt-à-Porter” by Robert Altman (1994), among others.

DIRECTOR

Rodolfo Pereira directed the short fiction film “El rey de las azoteas” (1985). “Toque de queda” is his first feature film and is inspired by the friendship he had with Eduardo de la Piniella, one of the journalists murdered in Uchuraccay , in 1983 in Ayacucho.

This film was awarded in the National Contest of fiction feature films of the Ministry of Culture in 2016 . In addition, it has the institutional support of the Inter-American Press Association (SIP), Reporters Without Borders (RSF), the Journalists Association of Peru (CPP), the Washington Office for Latin America (WOLA), Freedom House (FH) and the Council of Hemispheric Affairs (COHA).

In this video you can see images of the trip made by the director and the production team to study locations in Ayacucho. You can learn more about the film on its official website .

We can hardly believe it!  Has it really been 10 years since we were all treated to one of the best, if not The best hours ever shown on TV?

We’re talking of course about LOST episode ‘The Constant”….a Desmond/Penny centric episode that was one of the most popular episodes of the entire series.

How could we ever forget that phone call?

‘The Constant’ turns 10: Revisiting the great Lost time-twist episode a decade later

“It was 2008 and you never know what kind of show Lost would be. The fourth season of ABC’s island mystery returned in January after an eight-month hiatus — unusual, exhausting, tantalizing, back before everything had an 18-month hiatus. Week-to-week, there might be flashbacks or flashforwards, new characters introduced, old characters reintroduced, old characters brutally disposed of.”

LOST’s Best Episode ‘The Constant’ Turns 10

“The Constant” is the best episode that LOST ever did. Here’s why.

One of the best things that LOST ever did was realizing at the end of the second season that one of the best characters at their disposal was our favorite button-pushing Scotsman, Desmond Hume (Henry Ian Cusick). “The Constant” was the episode that Lost perfected the kind of episode to use with that character.

Brand new Vancouver Sun interview with Ian!

By Dana Gee

When the TV sensation Lost blew up over a decade ago, one of its stars kind of missed the whole must-see TV hullabaloo that surrounded the one-hour drama.

“Because I lived in Hawaii we were sort of cut off from the rest of the world,” said Henry Ian Cusick, who played Desmond Hume on Lost and is in Vancouver shooting the CW sci-fi drama series The 100.

“It was my first show in the States, so I just assumed that this is how it was for all of the shows. I didn’t really know I was kind of asleep in many ways.”

Now Cusick, a native of Peru who calls Oahu, Hawaii, home, says he is much more mindful of how he navigates the show biz world he inhabits as a network TV star…..
